M2M EDII helps manufacturers conduct traditional Electronic Data Interchange
(EDI) through third-party Value-Added Networks (VANs). These VANs act as intermediaries
that translate, store and send documents between disparate systems. Consequently,
third-party VANs often establish a commonly understood document format, or EDI
wrapper, that enables data transmission between the systems.
EDI technology allows information, such as a Made2Manage purchase order, to
be wrapped into an EDI format that can be sent to and interpreted by a third-party
VAN. The VAN retrieves the file from your designated mailbox and then redirects
it into the mailbox of your business partner, where it is unwrapped in a format
that can be easily read and manipulated in a system different from the Made2Manage
Enterprise Business System.

quotes, invoices, shipping notices, and purchase order changes.
